I wouldn't arbitrarily rule the Weatherby out with regards to acquiring the least expensive Howa variant. Just last yr, I purchased a fresh Vanguard from my lgs for $299.
That seems like it might not be perfect for extended vary classes due to barrel and action heating up quickly.

I've bought selection time with the two and i have shot sub .
The Howa/Vanguard action is the heaviest made. Even though the Winchester is not the lightest, it can be considerably less. If you're wanting a significant barreled target gun it might not be an element, but for just a hunting rig It might be for me.

Darn high-quality guns and they do not really need to Engage in 2nd fiddle to anything at all I have found recently! 1st HOWA I've owned but just after this it positive won't be the final. Won't be able to wait to get on the array with them and find out how they shoot.

There's absolutley NO CREEP, it breaks just like a glass rod, and the pad of my finger felt in your own home there.

It appears to me that an aluminum bedding block would make action screw torque not be as much of an issue. I dont very own a torque wrench which will go all the way down to inch pounds, so I just got them superior and tight which has a one/4" ratchet. Really should I stress about acquiring them torqued to manufacturing facility spec which can be fifty-fifty five in/lbs? steveNChunter
Certainly, it weighs above a pound more than a Mdl 700, but I am able to carry it w/o whining a few pound and a 50 percent, and i am a sixty one year previous person. If you cannot manage a old fashioned solidly designed rifle you may settle for low-priced or get in form, or remain about the bench. Rant over!
As Some others have said, They can be two of the greater actions on the market today. If I howa 1500 308 come across myself in the market for a new bolt action rifle at any time before long, it will probably find yourself becoming a M70 or Vanguard.
